What causes hurricanes to rotate counter clock-wise in the northern hemisphere and clock-wise in the southern hemisphere?

Because Earth is constantly rotating on its axis, as winds blow, it will seem to appear as if the planet's surface is moving beneath them.  The net effect is that wind blowing in what appears to be a straight line will actually curve when compared to the surface of Earth.  The net effect of all this curving is called the Coriolis Effect.  Anyway, all that curving adds up to hurricanes rotating counter-clock-wise north of the equator and clock-wise south of the equator.
