Hurricanes head coach Mark Hammett confident of good results with new squad in 2012 Super Rugby season
Wellington based New Zealand Super Rugby Franchise, Hurricanes', head coach, Mark Hammett has expressed his confidences in his new look squad to get good results during the upcoming 2012 Super
Rugby season. He made these comments on Thursday, November 03.
Earlier this week, Hammett announced his revamped 32-man squad for their 2012 Super Rugby campaign consisting of 17 forwards and 15 backs. The key difference in this squad is the notable omission
of five All Blacks international player from the lineup.
These five players include Ma'a Nonu, Piri Weepu, Andrew h**e, Hosea Gear and Aaron Cruden. Ma'a Nonu and Piri Weepu have joined Blues, Andrew h**e and Hosea Gear has moved to Highlanders while
Aaron Cruden  has joined Chiefs for 2012 Super Rugby campaign.
Commenting on his new squad, Hammett added, “There has to be lessons learned out of 2011, but we have to shut the book and squeeze the lessons out of it and look forward to 2012. There's no
doubt I'm going to be smarter. If it was easy and we went through and got better results maybe I wouldn't have learnt as much.”
Hammett added that he is working hard for the 2012 season and that is all on which he is currently focusing on. He added, “We've been flat out this last three or four months around selection
and game plan and how we will improve on last year. We hope there will be a few more smiles and a bit more fun out on that field.”
Hammett acknowledged that they have a tough season ahead. However, he has expressed his trust in the combination of the young and experienced players will adjust to requirements quickly and
deliver positive results for the team. He added that for this, players need to work hard and they can’t afford to relax.
Hurricanes are yet to announce their captain for the 2012 campaign.

Jeffery Toomaga-Allen, Beauden Barrett, Tim Bateman, Michael Bent, James Broadhurst, Richard Buckman, Dane Coles, Jason Eaton, Chris Eaton, Reggie Goodes, David Hall, Jayden Hayward, Cory Jane,
Daniel Kirkpatrick, Jack Lam, Alapati Leiua, Faifili Levave, Karl Lowe, Motu Matu'u, Ben May, Tristan Moran, Charlie Ngatai, TJ Perenara Tusi Pisi, Mark Reddish, Julian Savea, Brad Shields, Conrad Smith, Chris Smylie, Andre Taylor, Jeremy Thrush, Victor Vito.
