Hurry Back and Cloncunny Magic surprised Belle Vue with their stunning performances in the GRA Scurry Cup Semi-Final
The race course of Belle Vue scheduled the prestigious event of GRA Scurry Cup on the 13th of October 2011. The Grade OR race covering 260 meters distance, held two trips which concluded by finalising the draw for the finale taking place on Thursday.
Two lucky winners from each round were fortunate enough to take the purse of £150 home for their trainers. At 20:55 as the signal was received, the beasts participating in the GRA Scurry Cup – 1st Semi-Final commenced their chase in urge give
a hit.
Trainer C Allsopp’s Drumcove Lad, with the highest bets, was expected to win the chase, but unfortunately his pace was not enough to compete for the purse. The black dog wearing red and white shirt began his quest with quite an impressive speed. He tried
every chance to boost up his pace and rail through the pack of hounds, but he remained in the middle throughout the race.
Left behind by ¾ lengths, Drumcove Lad was given a chance to place himself at the lead. In total 15.34 seconds, C Allsopp’s hound was able to cross over and finished second.
Besides the defeat of the ideal hound of the show, trainer E Lagan’s black dog Cloncunny Magic was lucky enough to take advantage of the situation, and caught every one’s eyes with his fabulous lure chase.
The trap 5 racer wearing orange and white jacket, was swift and abrupt from the beginning of the race. With 9/2 odds the two-year-old surprised the whole stadium with his out class chase. As he dashed himself into the middle, Cloncunny Magic with his slow
and sure attitude, inspiringly surged through the lot of hounds and was spotted at the pointer position.
Sustaining the head start station E Lagan’s dog eventually crossed the finish line in 15.28 seconds.
Soon after the conclusion of the first round the second show sent in the hounds to commence their lure chase. Likewise the first semi-final the GRA Scurry Cup 2nd Semi-Final results astonished the Belle Vue stadium.
C Lund’s black dog Hurry Back, who was not placed in with the highest bets, presented an eye catching chase to qualify for the big day. Trap 3 racer began his picturesque chase with an amazing swiftness.
Striking himself through the trail, in next to no time he accomplished in attaining the pointer spot. With the odds of 9/4 Hurry Back’s intelligent chase helped him in not only crossing the wire in 15.41 seconds, but he has also confirmed his trap for the
finals.
The most favourite dog of the GRA Scurry Cup 2nd Semi-Finals, Dynamo Joe was fortunate enough to place himself for the final round despite of losing the purse for C Weatherall.
The trap 6 racer would have stole the show with 6/4 F odds, but tactlessly he was forced to face obstruction during the first bend. Dynamo Joe managed to stream himself into the middle and remained there throughout the chase. In 15.69 seconds he was able
to wrap up his chase at third position.
The purse winners of the chase has confirmed their traps for the finals, besides them hounds who managed to finish up second or third, are also given a chance to chase the lure for the prize money of £3,000.
