Okay so about a week ago my dog found a rabbit nest and started digging in it. We found a baby rabbit out side the nest so we put it back. I occasionally check on the nest to make sure the one is doing okay. Ever since then we have been monitoring my dog to make sure it doesnt harm them. Unfortunatley today i went outside to find my dog standing over one of them. It had a cut on its head. i am not sure if my dog did it because after i put it back in the nest i came back out about a half hour later to find it outside the nest again squirming around. I think the other babies arent letting it in because they arent making room and it doesnt seem to be wanting to stay in the nest. What should i do?

  1. send it to a vet or to animal centre

  2. Try to contact a veteranarian as soon as possible, the rabbits will always know you touched the bunny and they will never accept it.  It will dye if you leave it with the other bunnies.  You should go to some vet and find some rabbit milk or find a tamed rabbit that can mother it.  The bunny will never fit in with other wild rabbits because of the scent of human on it.

  3. Ok well you touching it wont make any difference they dont go by smell very much, the dog is a definate problem could you secure the area or the dog so the mother can still come and go? You can put cornflour on the wound if it is open or bleeding which will help but wont harm the mother if she washes it. Keep putting it back in the nest the others wont kick it out nor will the mother but if its really hungry or thirsty it could get dragged out or be looking for food/water, how old would it be? Are its eyes open they do start to forage once eyes are open around 10 days so now the dog will be a real problem here if they are all out hopping around. Keep an eye out because it will die if it is left out in the cold or gets dehydrated. You can syringe feed water carefully in tiny drops so as not to let it breath it in, about 1 - 2 ml then put it back again and see what happens. Good luck

  4. don't delay, if u care so much about it u could adope it ^_^ i think rabbits are preety cute, u could send it to the veternary center for check up to see if it has any major injuries or any disease ...u could take it to a farm ....

bes thing keep it if i were u i would coz the wild rabbits won't accept it back do it before its too late if u don't it'll probably

has a sealed fate of being eaten by fox or other ceatures

  5. send it to a animal shelter or veternarian immediatly for medical assistance. The quicker the better.

  6. well i can tell u this right now, is not the other rabbits that r kicking it out it has to be ur dog. rabbits r very loyal to each other. expeiclcilly when they r babies. if u have never seen the mother than i am sorry to say but the babies probley wont make it. if i were you i would block off your dog from the Area around the nest until the babies r about 4 mo. old then they will leave the mother and most likley leave the nest. just keep your dog away from the nest until they leave.
