okay, so I went skimboarding today (it's the sport where people run along the shore with "egg-shaped" boards and throw them down, riding along the thin layer of water that comes from the waves breaking on shore). I take my first run, stumble, and in the process, step on a large rock. I hit it pretty hard, and I hurt the arch of my foot. I can't really put that much pressure on it, but I need to work today, and, as with almost all jobs, shoes are part of the dress code. I took some aleve already, but can anybody tell me something I can do to help with the pain, maybe take off some pressure? Calling in to my job is not an option, cause I need the money : ) I doubt I'll get an answer before my shift starts, but I know my feet are gonna be hurting after work hehehe.

Thanks!!

  1. Use the rice method:

Rest the injuried part of the body.

    Ice or a cold pack.

Compression like a bandage or splint. Wrapp it firmly to prevent puffiness.

Elevate the part higher than your heart it prevents swelling. Other than that go see a doctor.

  2. Go to your local Eastern Medicine store and see if you can find Dit Dah (or Dit Dar, as it's sometimes pronounced). It smells like h**l, but it works for topical bruises. My Boyfriend used it while taking Kung Fu (His Sifu was knowledgeable in Chinese herbal remedies ) for bruises. My friend broke her toe and put Dit Dah on it and the swelling was completely eliminated. It works extremely well for curing bruises, and that will make it so you can wear your shoes again. Sorry Dit Dah is so hard to find, but Americans aren't really into Chinese remedies.
