Hurt fingers....serious answers only please!?

I got my middle and ring finger of my left hand crushed about a month ago by somebody's body landing on top of them, as my hand was on the floor. They were very swollen and bruised for a few days...I put the ice to them. I had my wedding rings on them and couldn't get them off. After about 10 days I was able to pry them off, with great pain and force applied. Now almost 3 weeks later I can't get them back on, and my fingers are still not right. There is only pain if I bump them, try to outstretch them, or flick them. I can't lift a lot of weight with them. When I try to make a fist, they feel a lot of pulling inside like somethings not right but not necessarily a lot of pain, just discomfort. They also feel tingly if I rub them (on the palm side) They look fine as far as no more bruises but look swollen a bit still.

So, I guess I'm just asking....should I give them more time to heal or get 'em checked. I don't really have the $100 co-pay for an exam/ or even more for x-rays unless there is an absolute need! Any ideas what it could be? I don't think it's a bone

  1. I really think you should go see a doctor or someone because you'll never know, you can't just assume that its just swollen or anything. All you need to do is like see a doctor.

  2. Ok, what I think you should do is research to see what could be wrong like if it was broken or sprained. I work at WCA hospital and I personally think you should check out what it is first before you decide to go to the doctors. If it is cut, it may be an infection. If not, its probably a break in the bone. Anyway, if you cannot find out what it is, I would go to the doctors and get an X-Ray. But first get it examined.

    Good luck!

  3. You could have some compound fractures going on. Get your behind to a healthcare facility!!!!!!

  4. you should see a doctor

but i under stand if you can,t  you most likely sprang it real bad or pulled it out of scockit  do not try and putyour ring back on

you can go to wal mart or cvs or wal green and buy a splint for your finger to keep you from bumping it

last year i slamed a door on my finger and sprang it real bad

and i just put a splint on it

when ever you sprang some thing it takes time for it to heal

if it not better soon you go see a bout it  it to me a month for mine to start healing

  5. I suggest you get an X ray to make sure
