I hurt my left knee by pulling too hard during my quad stretch, and it hurts when I run. (The pain comes in after 15 min.) My dad (he's a doctor) told me to ice it and not run until the pain is gone, but will I get out of shape?I've been riding my bike instead, and it might take 2-7 days until I feel better.

  1. well just don't run for like 2 weeks it might like seem like too much but it its not fully healed it'll  take like even longer to heal if u hurt it even more happened to me like 10932480 times not the running but like i'd hurut my self and then and i wouldn't wait and so i'd s***w it up even more and had to wait alot longer to get back to playing ice/roller hockey or w.e

  2. Simple answer. Swimming. Swimming is low impact, but it is pretty much the best sport you can do for strength, stamina and general fitness. Go to yor local pool and start doing lengths. Mix it up, front crawl, back crawl, breast stroke, and if you are up for it try a bit of butterfly.

  3. i heard that the "wall chair"exercise is good for the knees.ya basically lean w/your back against the wall and squate down like your sitting in a chair and just hold the position as long as ya can.go as low is what is possible.

  4. anything more than a week, and you will start to lose your conditioning.

    keep icing

  5. you will be ok. keep iceing and try using a oliptical, bike, or aqua jog.

there was a girl on my xc team who had knee surgury and wasnt able to even walk untill a week before practice. she is now a varsity runner!

    good luck!

  6. you'll be ok and if you think it may ruin something ask him hes in your family how great is that.
