  1. What happened was the skin on the tip of the tail didn't come off during shedding, causing the older, smaller piece to squeeze the tip of the tail, killing the very tip. There's nothing a person at a pet store can do for you. Snakes are rugged and it will heal on its own. Just when it sheds, make sure to make sure it sheds all of its skin. Misting or soaking can help shedding problems.

  2. I think it will be fine. Just next time make sure that the snake is ready to shed that part off and actually you probally shouldnt be pulling it off it will come off in time just have patience.  I have 6 snakes and i have been told not to handle them much when they are shedding. I dont pick the shed off mine always sheds in one peice if yours doesnt then you need to make sure that the heat in your cage and the humidity is right  I spray my cage with distilled water 2 times a day.
