Paderborn striker Nick Proschwitz admits that he would love to play for
SpVgg Greuther Furth in the Bundesliga next season.
The German striker Nick Proschwitz, who plays for the Paderborn in the Bundesliga’s second tier, has been the subject of intense transfer speculation. The striker scored a staggering 17 goals in 33 games for the German second division
side.
Hull City FC Manager Steve Bruce, recently revealed that his club are interested in the 17 goal striker, and had made an inquiry about the player. The 25-year old striker’s current deal with Paderborn expires in twelve months time.
He is in a good position to engineer a move away from his current club.
The Westphalia club are unlikely to let their prized asset leave on the cheap, it is reported that they are holding out for a 1.5 million Euros. The club are ready to lose him on a free transfer rather than selling him for peanuts.
Along with Hull, Bundesliga new boys SpVgg Greuther Furth are also thought to be interested in making a move for the player; their interest however, is thought to be more concrete than the English Championship club.
The player himself admits that, although he has contractual obligations towards his current club but he favours a move to the newly promoted Bundesliga side.
"I am under contract with SC Paderborn 07. But I would like to join SpVgg Greuther Furth this summer," Proschwitz is quoted as saying in an interview.
His agent revealed that his client has a clause in his contract which allows him to leave for a Bundesliga side. The agent is confident that he will thrash out a move for the player in the new few days.
“We would like to remind SC Paderborn of the mutual agreement that Nick would not be prevented from getting the go-ahead if there was an offer from the Bundesliga. We are very much hoping to see an agreement worked out," the player’s
agent is quoted as saying interview.
The lure of topflight football will be enough for Proschwitz to opt for a move to Furth. The move to Hull FC will not be too attractive for the player who scored 17 goals last season.
