  1. I would write to the Commanding Officer and find out what is going on with your husband.  That doesn't even sound right.

  2. Without more information, it's hard to say. Is he National Guard? Reserves? Active Duty? If he isn't being sent home, and can't train, he'll likely be sent back to 30th AG, Reception Battalion. A Company is for guys recovering from injuries. He'll stay there until cleared, then he'll go downrange to complete his training. Is he Infantry OSUT, or just Basic?

Regardless, nothing at Benning happens quickly.

  3. As one who was injured while at recruit training (Parris Island) I injured my ankle, they didn't give me any choices, I simply went to the hospital and they pinned it.

Once the doctors said I was fit for duty, I was sent to another platoon to pick up where I had left off.

  4. Many new recruits get injured during basic training. Most of the time it is stress fractures cause by the fact that there body's are not used to doing the kind of stuff they are now doing or injuries that they had prior to getting into basic training. In most cases (like your husband's) they give the person the option to go home (they may get to try again, but the chances of them getting in are slim) or they can get "recycled" which means they get treatment for what ever has happened to them, and once they are healed up they go back to basic ot finish what they started. Before you go writing the commanding officer and causing a scene, I would ask you husband what exactly is going on.
