Husband/basic/pins in knees??

Question

my husband is at basic i got the full story first he wrote that he had 3 of the same shot ..but they did give him 1 wrong shot ..he passed out while running and fractured his knee ..they asked him if he wanted to go home and he said no..so now they are going to put pins in his knees and start him over in his training ..as any one else been threw this ?? and what was the out come ?

After he heals he will go through Basic again and if able to pass the PT and other parts he will continue in the AF*, If not he will be discharged, either entry level or due to his injuries he might get a medical discharge.

Basically the same in the army as what the USAF Veteran said, If he is able to pass the PT tests and is able to function without his knee being a problem he will go on, but if his knee is the reason he cannot go on he will get a Medical Discharge.
