Question:

Husband forced to quit then denied unemployment

Does this sound legal to you? My husband was forced to quit his job after he and a coworker had an affair (I am the one who caught him and that is a whole other story). Now he is being denied unemployment insurance. Does that seem legal to you? The employer has no policy about workplace romance and there are many couples there who work together and are either dating or married. Seems like my husband was fired because they did not agree with his morals.

  1. This doesn't really belong in the immigration section. It should belong to the Careers and Employment section. As for your husband's bosses, they can fire him for any reason they want so long as it's not based on age, s*x, race, disability or if he got fired because he is currently serving in the military reserves or National Guard. It's their business and their right to fire and hire people. No one is guaranteed a job. A few years back, a guy got fired from his beer company because a newspaper picture showed him holding a beer from another competing company's beer at a party! Another girl got fired for writing a blog about her life which also includes her comments about the company she works for! Get him to look for another job. Check some of these job searches out:

  2. Everything in the usa is illegal

  3. It depends on what the job is and if he got caught having s*x while on company time.  If it was on company time, they probably suggested he quit so when he goes for another job he won't have to reveal he was fired.  He may have been let go because there may have been drama going on or they maybe predicted drama--you, him, and the woman he was having s*x with.

  4. no thats not legal sue for wrongful termanion and why are you with him if he cheated on you

  5. If you quit, no unemployment!

    At least where I live.

    You must be let go.

    Looks like you screwed him?

Sounds you forced him to quit, not his boss.

    No $$ for you babe!
