Husband has UK passport - how can wife work in Italy?

My friend's husband has a UK passport, but has never resided in the UK. My friend is on a NZ passport but they would like to move to Italy - he has a job offer. How could they get a visa for her to enable her to work?

If he has a UK passport he can work anywhere in Europe.  If he is a UK citizen she can also become one and get a UK/European passport.

As an EU citizen(UK PASSPORT) he is entitled to set up residence in Italy,She(as his spouse) will be able to obtain a work permit!
