We recently found out that my husband has an increase of white blood cells in his sperm, which have been killing the sperm, causing us to not get pregnant after 9 months of trying. He was given an antibiotic to kill the white blood cells, and that should clear it up. Has anyone else had this happen? Were you able to get pregnant??

  1. First of all, the antibiotic was not given to kill the WBC. These cells are are the body's natural defense against infection. The increase in these cells indicate an infection, and thats why he was given the medication.

Possibilities are: Prostate cancer, STD, Urinary Tract Infection, or a combination of these.

  2. The antibiotic was given to actually clear up the genital infection he has.  The reason the white blood cells are there is because there is some kind of infection they are fighting.  After the infection has cleared, you should be able to get pregnant.  It's a pretty common occurrence so don't be worried.  Good luck with your pregnancy! :-)

  3. Antibiotics do not kill white bloodcells:they are your defensesystem against infections:The antibiotcs were given to kill the bacteria or germs.

    Planets.
