My husband is in the army and he set me up an allotment and it should start on the 1st, but since the 1st is a holiday when will I get it?

  1. if he is sending to another account (one separate from the one his check is deposited into), you might actually get it after the holiday.

    but also, it depends on when he set it up. if he set it up before the 15th of last month, then you'll be getting it more than likely after the holiday. if he set it up after the 15th of last month, you'll see it around the 15th of this month.

    dfas is wierd like that. if you need to make a payment on the 1st of the month, you have to enter it at least one week before the 15th. and if you need to make a payment by the 15th or later, then you have to enter the allotment at least one week prior to the 1st of the month.

    it's because they take half of the payment on the upcoming check, and the other half on the next check ... and then the (full) payment gets sent out to the allotees.

  2. Well i know that our check posted to our account today since the 1st in on monday and it happens to be a holiday.
