Husband taking post office test for mechanic position...?

He has to know the knowledge of basic mechanics referring to the theory of operation, terminology, and usage.

Knowledge of basic electricy refferring to the basic terminology and usage.

knowledge of lube materials and procedures referring to the terminology and characteristics.

is there anywhere where he can get information on this stuff ?? thank you

Basic test information was probably already sent to you when you signed up for the test, but I suspect you mean you need more in depth information.  Take the exact test number to the library or a book store and they will be able to find a lot of test prep. material for you.  The general topic will be in the are of USPS, then VMF (vehicular motor facility) or VOMA (vehicle operations maintenance associate)  good luck.
