Husky Fridge in need of defrosting?

Hi,

I have a husky fridge which is a small fridge unit very similar to the one in this link (http://www.dealclick.co.uk/product/12150765/HUSKY-HUSHDA134-1-8-BUD.php)

I have noticed it has not been keeping items as cool any more and I checked the thermostat nob and it is on full power. When I checked inside the fridge at the back there is a small tray which sits along the bottom and seems like it may collect water. This is totally iced up and the ice is so thick, I cannot move it. Could this be causing the problem with temperature? Should I switch it off and allow the ice to melt and then switch it back on when its all gone?

  1. The fridge sounds like its out of coolant or it has a leak, most of the time when they ice up like that it means something is broken, you should also keep a thermometer in your fridge to make sure your food is kept below the "danger zone" so you dont get sick
