Michael Hussey wanted to leave CLT20 earlier
Australian middle-order batsman, Michael Hussey has said that if it were to be in his hands, he would have left the Champions League T20 tournament in the middle and joined the Australian side for the
tour of India.
The Aussies reached http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 for the two Test matches and three ODIs around seven days before the start of the first Test match. However, Hussey could not join the Australian side because he was a part of the
Chennai Super Kings squad which was participating in the Champions League T20. To make matters worse for Hussey, Chennai also entered the final of the tournament and that meant that Hussey could not depart from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 – where the tournament was being
played – till 27 September. The first Test match started on 1 October.
India went on to win a close first Test match at Mohali by a wicket, and Hussey failed to set the stands alight with scores of 17 and 28 in the two innings.
The decision to not allow Hussey to leave the tournament midway was taken by the Cricket Australia.
“Yeah, well I spoke a lot to Cricket Australia about it, but the decision was that their players were going to be available for the Twenty20 campaign so there was nothing I could really do about it," he
said.
Hussey then decided to try and focus his attention on the CLT20 instead of getting distracted by the whole issue.
Speaking to AAP, Hussey said, “I made my mind up that, well, I've just got to get on with it otherwise I'm going to ruin my time with Chennai and not enjoy the rest of my time in the Champions League,
and I'm going to ruin my time with Australia once I get here if I let it affect me,”
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lee-c72382 injured himself
during the tournament and could play in only one ODI against India before returning back to Australia.
