Huub Stevens not certain to be appointed at Imtech Arena - Bundesliga news
Former Red Bull Salzburg manager Huub Stevens has denied any talks with Hamburg officials over the managerial role at Imtech Arena. The Red Shorts are currently in search of a new manager after http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261 Oenning got sacked last week.
Oenning got the marching orders after he failed to lead his side to a win this season. Until the appointment of the new manager, control of the team has been given to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cardoso-c8316, who helped the Red Shorts to their first win of the 2011/12 campaign over

Hamburg registered a 2-1 win over the Swabians on Friday, courtesy goals from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jeffrey-Bruma-c18265. Sporting director Frank Arnesen told that nothing has been finalised yet regarding the new manager, though, he confirmed that Marco van Basten
and Huub Stevens were being considered.
Arnesen reckons that Hamburg need an attacking manager in order to improve their performances this season. He was all praise for Cardoso’s efforts on Friday which saw his side register the first victory of this campaign. The sporting director also hailed
Bruma’s breathtaking display under the interim manager, urging him to continue with the same venom and composure for future assignments.
When quizzed about the new manager, Arnesen further stated, "No, there is still no decision. Before the game against Stuttgart, I said that we did not have a new coach, and since the game started I could not talk to [Stevens] at half time. I could of course
speak with him, but I have not, so there's nothing new."
He had confirmed about the appointment of the new manager during the current week, hinting at the appointment of Van Basten.
He concluded the talks by saying, "I will not talk about it again. I will only talk when we have a new coach, so I can announce his identity. We need to act as quickly as possible to find a new coach, but we want a coach that suits us."
Hamburger are currently rooted to the bottom of the table with four points from seven games and will next be seen in action against Schalke on Sunday, October 2.
