The Schalke manager has insisted that his side’s main aim will be to qualify for the UEFA Champions League again next season.
Die Knappen had an impressive season last term as they finished third, behind Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich, and qualified for the Champions League. The team is targeting a place in Europe again for the next campaign considering
they do not have a very strong chance of winning the Bundesliga.

respectively and have arrived on a free transfer.
Huub Stevens claims that Schalke have a great squad at their disposal and can have a very good season next term. He admitted that the club suffered a huge blow when the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hans-Sarpei-c15741
left this summer but is confident that the current lot of players have all what it takes to fight for the honours.
“We’ve got a good squad that needs to find its feet. We’ve lost four experienced players with the departure of Raul, Peer Kluge, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mathias-Schober-c24673 and Hans Sarpei. They were important members of the squad both on and off the pitch.
My biggest hope for the pre-season is to avoid losing any players through injury,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, the manager set his target to qualify for Europe at the end of the next season. He is hopeful that the side does not suffer any more injury problems before the campaign starts and is looking forward to the pre-season
campaign.
“Obviously, we’ve got to aim to qualify for Europe again at the end of the season. But we’re not the only club with that in mind. It will be exciting. I’m fully focussed on the pre-season. Let’s get going,” he concluded.
Die Knappen will start their campaign at the AWD-Arena against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hannover-96-c39492 on Friday, August 24. The visitors will be looking to make a winning start to the season.
