The Schalke manager has warned his side against complacency as they take on Fortuna Dusseldorf this weekend in a bid to claim all three points.
Fortuna Dusseldorf are the only team in the league to have not conceded a goal this season and Schalke target to break the record this weekend. The promoted side have played five games in the Bundesliga season and have won two,
drawing the other three fixtures.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 Eindhoven boss claimed that his side certainly wants to score goals against a very good defence in the next game. He admitted that there have been five teams who have failed to score against Dusseldorf this season
which shows how good the opposition has been.
Stevens stressed that his team is prepared to face the challenge and is confident that Schalke will produce the goods. He is targeting an away win to make it two wins from the last two games to remain in pursuit of a top-four finish
at the end of the season.
“Of course we want to change that. Five sides have so far failed to score against Dusseldorf and that says a lot about the quality of our opponents. They are very well organised and are doing a good http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684, but we are ready. They
are more than welcome to keeping clean sheets, only not against us,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, Dusseldorf manager Norbert Meier wants the players to keep their feet on the ground and warned against being over confident. The tactician is impressed with the displays thus far and is aiming for another good
performance against Schalke this weekend at home.
“We have got to keep our feet on the ground. Self-confidence is good and it is always useful to have collected a few points at the start of the season,” he concluded.
Only one point separates the two sides. Schalke are in fourth place whereas Fortuna Dusseldorf are fifth with ten and nine points respectively. A win for the home side would put them in the top-four which would be a great achievement.
