I have a copy of the St Louis Post Dispatch, dated April 16, 1912. Headline 802 Live lost when "Titanic" Ansk: 868 Saved. Subtopic Carpathia Steaming to New York With survivors; None on other Ships. Am thinking about passing this on. Do any of you think it is worht anything. I have tried to reach sothesby Auction in London. If anyone has some buyer experience, what do you think?

  1. It is quite possible... but that would depend upon condition of the newspaper itself... these factors contribute to actual worth { not just the newspaper itself }

    but there is a slight problem with the newspaper you have found....

    I just so happened to have found this exact newspaper on the net -- in mint condition

    the problem is that it is a reprint ...

    as you can see -- there are several newspapers here that are reprinted editions

    If you can validate the authenticity of the one you found it might be  worth your time --- if it is just another reprint -- it would not be as valuable as you might have thought....

    the question is finding out if it is a reprint...

    The original is worth a little more -- figure about 350

    {depending on condition of course}

    Newspapers are valued by true collectors -- but unfortunately, if you thought your paper would be worth in the thousands - or even more ... they are not

    { I do not believe Sotheby's would handle this one }.
