It is not automatically deleted if not used for 180 days.  I have gone longer than that--------------and it was never deleted.

eazy.. u can forget you not have the yahoo acct. bcoz after 4 month u not use..thier automatic close.. or u can use this

if you do not login for certain period of time say 6 monthsautomatically website deletes that acccount thatsite, you read rules carefully while opening any new account in any websie you will undersatnd.

If you don't log in to yahoo then your account will be automatically deleted after some time. But if you want to delete it now then see the instructions below

U cant delete ur yahoo answers, yahoo messenger, yahoo 360 or any other yahoo service account individually. If u wish to delete ur account, u shall hv to delete ur full yahoo account.

You can't delete your Yahoo Answers account without deleting your entire Yahoo account - this will delete your Answers, email, 360, paid services, etc. Are you sure you want to do that? You could just stop using the Answers portion of your account.

If you want to keep all your other services, except Answers, I recommend changing your Yahoo Answers profile so that noone can associate it with the rest of you.

To do that, select "My Q&A" in the upper right hand area of this page. Select "Edit my info" which you'll find under your avatar.

In the "nickname" section enter a different nickname, and select the radio button next to it. in the picture section, select "no picture". Make sure sharing, about me and communications are all unchecked and empty. save.

To be sure you're all good, select "public view of my profile" and you'll note that it doesn't look like your account to anyone. Then all you have to do is stop using your answers account. Noone will ever know you have one.

If you do decide to delete your entire account, before deleting your account, make sure to edit your privacy settings ( http://privacy.yahoo.com/privacy/us/yps/... ) as deleting your account does not remove you from the directory.

Once you delete it, you will never be able to use anything that was associated with that account.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

All you have to do is NOT use a certain account id for a period of I believe 180 days and it will become inactive and they should automatically delete it.
