Hw can i tell if the crack on my cricket bat is a surface crack or worse?

Firstly if the crack is really thin then its likely to be small however if it looks as if its is getting bigger then it could be deep.

However if you want to be sure my advice would be to take the bat to a professional cricekt store and they will be able to tell you. You must remember that over time cracks will appear on the surface of a bat simply due to wear however these cracks do not effect the performance of the bat. Sometimes getting the bat completely sanded will remove all of the surface cracks (if that is what your crack is)
