Hwo much absinthe would it take to make a person halucinate?

newer absinthe that is available in America doesn't make you hallucinate at all because the THC is removed older absinthe or some bottles available in europe can take anywhere from 2 to 4 glasses but that is me personally

The hallucination thing is a myth made up by French wine makers in the 1800's who were being driven out of business by Absinthe at the time. It was pick up by The Temperance Movement here in the US and has been haunting us ever since.

Those who don't buy into the scientific proof believe that absinthe contains amount of Thujene in the 50-60ppm range. Chemical testing on vintage unopened bottles purchased at estate sales in France have shown that even classic absinthe never contained more than 10 ppm (The current level allowed by US law) and actually averaged 8ppm. Further more...it would take a lot more than 60ppm to make you see things and even if you did drink enough, you'd be long dead from alcohol poisoning.

Ps. It is a little less than double the strength of whiskey. 40%/80 proof vs. 70%/140proof.

Have to agree with mcstir you have to go to the Czech Republic in order to get the stuff made with wormwood also perhaps Amsterdam as well.I've drank Absinthe before in the Czech Republic as well as Austria and didn't see little green fairies but it did make my face numb and I seen shadows out of the corner of my eye but that was probably more or less my own mind freaking myself out.You really can't drink and slosh it around like cheap beer,it is very strong and will kill you if you were to drink a lot of it.1 maybe 2 glasses would suffice

Absinthe doesn't make you hallucinate at all, just really drunk.  The hallucination thing is a myth.

Depends where its from.  Theres a ton in the US market now that will just get you drunk but nothing else.

I had one from Spain that got me screaming bloody murder after seeing demon elves climb out of a mirror in less than 1/2 liter.

I have to agree with everybody else here (except the chemical in 'real' absinthe is not THC, it's something else but somebody posted some great links for additional information).  

I just wanted to share my experience....I drank the 'real' absinthe that my friend bought over in Europe someplace where it is legal and............nada. I got really drunk though, but nothing funner than that.  

Oh yeah, and it tastes terrible, unless you like really strong and bitter licorice flavors.
