  1. Yes, it absolutely works.  My significant other, who is an ex-football player, has had 9 knee surgeries, is very overweight and who above all did NOT want to have any more surgeries or a knee replacement either, swears by it.  What you need to know is the following, however:  1)  It's not a permanent fix as the acid breaks down and is absorbed (I believe) by the body over time.  Usually the docs say the effects last for about 18 months.  I do know one older woman who had the procedure in both knees, and has found that 3 years later she's still doing well and can even dance, but my honey is finding the effects are diminishing and it's only a year later.  He has bone on bone in at least one of his knees, however, and like I say, is VERY overweight.  Everyone's experience is vastly different.  I don't know anyone who's had the procedure(s) and hasn't been helped by it, but how long the effects last vary greatly from  person to person as I said.  2)  The other thing you should know is that HA is administered into the knee via VERY large bore needles.  Those who are needle phobic may want someone with them whose hand they can hold (crush...) or some valium at the very least, so don't go into this procedure without being aware and having talked to your doctors at length about just what is going to happen when and how it's going to go.  Forewarned is forearmed, and I still say this procedure beats the h**l out of surgery, even arthroscopic surgery.  It's been a blessing for us, especially because it's allowed my Mr. Honey to sleep at night without the immense pain he was in and the constant waking up that went on because he was in so very much pain!  He can now walk better and goes golfing 3 times a week, minimum, so the quality of his life is so incredibly much improved it's unreal!
