I like them both and feel you probably can't go wrong with either, so "all things being equal", are you happy with your purchase and would you buy another one?

  1. I own an '07 Prius and I am very happy with it.

I am most impressed with how mechanically simple the car is, which means it is very low-maintenance:

Just 22 moving parts in its single-gearset Power Split Device transmission, no gear-shifting wear and tear.

Regenerative braking saves wear on the brake pads, which means the Prius does not need a brake job until 100,000 miles.

The Prius has no timing belt, no alternator, no starter solenoid to wear out and need replacement.

All that backed with an 8-year / 100,000-mile warranty on the hybrid system (including the battery).

After driving a Prius with all that maintenance-saving technology, regular cars seem downright primitive.  I'm never going back to a regular car.

I'm not qualified to comment on the Honda Civic Hybrid since I don't own one, but from what I hear it's a good car too.  Its drivetrain is closer to a normal car's though, and its electric motor cannot move the car on its own except under very rare circumstances.
