I inherited some hybrid clubs and was wondering what woods/irons they replace? They are a 17, 20, 23, 26, and 29 degree hybids.

  1. Depending on your skill level, the most popular club to replace with a hybrid is a 3 iron, many golfers also use a hybrid to replace the 4 iron.  The 2 hybrid would be helpful as a driving iron.  There are some iron sets today that are all hybrids.  Its really great technology. My theory is that if the pros are taking advantage of hybrids to replace their irons, why wouldn't we average golfers do the same?! Good luck with the new clubs.  There is no better way to see if they will work for you then take them out and give 'em a try.  Hit hybrids as if they are a 7 iron and watch the amazing results.

  2. 17 = 2

    20 = 3

    23 = 4

    26 = 5

    29 = 6

  3. 17 degrees = 2 iron

    20 degrees = 3 iron

    23 degrees = 4 iron

    26 degrees = 5 iron

    29 degrees = 6 iron

    I would recommend changing 3, 4 irons.

    no need to change the 2 iron(even if you carry any)

    but I personally think you can change 3~6 irons if you are a high handicapped person

  4. 20* = 3 iron

    23* = 4 iron

    26* = 5 iron

    Try them! Play couple of rounds with them! Personally, I switched my 3 iron with the 20* hybrid and I have more then decent results. Works for me! Some people are more traditionalist and they will never use hybrids, but, believe me, they are working, especially if you want to "shave" some strokes from your handicap.
