  1. Sorry... no hybrid in the world meets those qualifications. Maintenance is VERY costly, hybrids get good fuel mileage but cost so much that you won't see any benefits for nearly five years, NONE of them are sporty and NONE of them are environmentally friendly (they ALL use gasoline and actually cost more to assemble than a HumVee). You should see the area in Canada where the ore for the batteries are mined -- it looks like a nuclear weapon went off and killed EVERYTHING within three miles of the place. Now for the plain truth: a high mpg VW or Honda gets almost as much fuel mileage as a hybrid does and emit virtually no emissions -- for thousands and thousands of dollars less than a 'conventional' automobile. The hybrid may be a step in the right direction toward a greener planet but if we use LOGIC vs EMOTION when it comes time to buy a car we all win.

  2. Hybrids that actually get good mpg are not sporty, you can't have it both ways. True environmental responsibility requires sacrifice. If you do a lot of long distance driving you will likely do better with a diesel, hybrids are most efficient in town/city driving.

  3. I think this is a perfect overall vehicle.  It is safe, fun, and stylish.  The green color would be cute for you.  http://www.mercuryvehicles.com/mariner/t...

I wish you could get the two tone interior on the Mercury Mariner Hybrid.  Of course I would get a darker color, because the lighter colors are too cute for a guy.

  4. These benefits are hampered by the hybrid’s cost. Hybrids are expensive to construct because the manufacturer needs to develop and install two motors instead of one. Plus, the complex vehicles also contain a regeneration system that is used while the driver breaks, gathering energy generated as the vehicle is brought to a stop. These three components are intricate and costly.

The cost of constructing a hybrid car is reflected on the sticker price. Hybrids are considerably more expensive than traditional cars that run solely on gasoline. They are also more expensive to repair. The three systems that comprise the hybrid’s inner workings interact together. When one system fails, they all fail. Since the cars are relatively new to the market, owners can expect to pay hefty repair costs.

The government is trying to offset the high cost of the hybrid car by offering a tax incentive to individuals who buy the vehicles. However, the tax incentive is not enough to cover the difference between the hybrid and the traditional gasoline-run car and it is only offered on a certain number of hybrid vehicles sold by each manufacturer...............................
