Question:

Hydrangea not flowering this year?

I planted "Big Daddy" Hydrangea last spring, the blossom was beautiful last year.

Can anyone tell me why it has not flower till now? The bush is thriving very well, it grows quite large and looks very healthy.

FYI, I did spray Miracle Grow fertilizer (the one that suppose to boost the flower) in April.

Thank you.

  1. I am posting a link for you. ( hope it helps about the fertilizer.)  I have several Hydrangea plants.  The ones my landscaper pruned have not bloomed.

The ones I asked him not to trim, are showing tons of blooms.  I know that in the fall/early spring its hard to tell the dead branches, from the ones still alive w/blooms.  I think he pruned them too much.

I have a huge plant, but no blooms on that one.
