Question:

Hydraulics project ideas?

My stupid teacher wants my class to do a hydraulics project that demonstrates a basic hydraulics system. An example would be you take a 5 lb 4 by 4 inches box and life it... things like that. I need some ideas on something I can do and please tell me how to do it because that b*****d didn't tell us how to do it. Thanks in advance.

  1. I had a thought of giving a better answer, but after re-reading your "question" and the disrespect shown your teacher, I decided against it. You can just suffer through on your own....and maybe you will learn something, just as your teacher intended. (He is not so "stupid" after all)

  2. Get two syringes small one (say 1cc) and a large one (say 50cc). Fit them onto some sort of a support like wooden board. Attach a tube to the large syringe and fill the syringe with oil. Connect push the plunger down ob the small syringe to evacuate the air and connect to the tube to it.   Then place a  weight on top of the Plunger on the large syringe and the small syringe will begin to rise, make sure to put a little finger pressure  to stop the plunger from being pushed all the way out. Now  find a small weight that you can put on the smaller syringe that will push the piston on the large syringe back up to counterbalance it. This way you can demonstrate how a small force on small syringe can exert larger force on the large syringe. This is similar to the brake circuit in your car. Where a small force at the pedals exerts a larger force at the break disc.

    hope this helps.

    Cheers

PS:Hey have some respect for the teacher

  3. I would post an apology to your teacher.  No matter what you think about him, you need to act respectful.  I'm sure there are people in your life that are respectful to you, even if they don't particularly like you.
