Hydrocodone/APAP after expiration date?

Is it safe to take them after they expire? I got them about 18 months ago after my surgery but I never felt like I needed to them but now I've been having bad shoulder pain and Excedrin is very ineffective(even tho i've had the best luck with them in the past) and whats the difference between Hydrocodone?APAP and Hydrocodone?

Here in the US, you can't get a pure hydrocodone.  It's always mixed with apap, ibuprofen, aspirin, etc.

If the pills have been kept in a dry location (not the kitchen or bathroom), most likely they're still good.

Get your shoulder looked at if this is new pain.  You don't want to mask a problem.
