  1. certainly it is non metal

  2. Non-metal

  3. In some ways,  this is more a semantic than practical question.   In simple compounds,  hydrogen can act either as a metal or non-metal.

    HCl  vs NaH

In terms of numbers of compounds found,  there are many more compounds where hydrogen is an electron donor (metal)  than electron acceptor (non-metal).   One needs to use a pretty strong electron donor (sodium,  potassium,  calcium) to get hydrogen to accept electrons.

In the activity series,  there are elements above it (tin, lead)  and below it (copper) which pretty clearly are metals.  To me,  that positions hydrogen as reacting principally like a metal.

  4. definately non-metal

  5. There is a huge discussion over its nature but i raed somewhere that mosrt of science world consider it a non metal
