Why are they hiding this from us, when it could save billions of lives (taking into account the oil pollution reduction, etc.)

  1. Well cash for one. Unfortunately industry only thinks in short term profits. There is no effort on any long term, well anything here. Profits are the reason.

  2. There's this law of physics called conservation  of energy. Those scams don't work.

  3. Rocket fuel for octane booster to get more mileage. not compressed as in space shuttle that blew up,or Hindenburg that did too.People killed by the fall................Who,or how would oil companies get rich,Triple the price

  4. Because it takes more energy to convert the water into a combustible fuel than you get from just using the energy to run your car.

No one is hiding this from anyone.   Do a web search on "water as fuel" and you'll find all sorts of people willing to sell you conversion kits.

The automobile industry (who is really the folks who would be interested in this - not the oil industry) doesn't pursue this because it is not a viable technology.   It wastes energy and money.

    Sorry.

(Were you really looking for an answer?   Because if you weren't, then please change my answer to "Yeah!   Those wicked oil companies!   They're responsible for holding us ALL back.  Let's do something!")

  5. It is interesting that you ask "why" and most people answer with "how".

Patents drive our world for profit reasons...and there are many patents related to the "how".  So why have these not been developed?

Simple...if you have a major piece of an energy market (say oil) you also have major money and can buy the rights to the patents!  So you can continue to profit in your current energy market and then when it runs out or out of fashion you can develop your patents that you bought the rights!

And...if patents are tied to "national security/defense" then the government will own them (reference Tesla).

Finally...if you do not sell your patent rights they can use strong arm legal tactics (they have the money...small inventors don't) to "wait" you out...

So it is not really a "conspiracy" just a profit oriented global economy.  So...ironically...these high oil prices are actually a positive move in the direction of developing these technologies.

  6. Oil companies are not hiding this from us....in fact of all the alternative fuels to be had this is by far the best  the oil companies could ever wish for....it will take almost as much petroleum based fuel to create the hydrogen as what we are putting into our gas tanks anyway....they ain't gonna loose!!!

  7. Good question. But considerable amount of research is going on in this regard. The problem here is different companies are experimenting with different types of alternative fuel sources. Which in a way is good. The biggest problem in hydrogen running your car is the following:

You need to have a economical machine that will convert water into hydrogen and oxygen. Over this, how much water can you carry and where will the hydrogen be stored. Hydrogen filling stations are also another issue. Hydrogen requires storage at particular temperatures. If the website you have referred to is really cool, then I guess its lagging behind due to lack of awareness and advertising. Perhaps they need to advertise more.

Also remember that water vapor is also considered a source of global warming. The only good thing about it is  that it gets condensed and becomes precipitation later. But it does stay in the atmosphere for sometime. But imagine if even 50% of the automobiles in the world will exhaust water vapor into the atmosphere. The affect and impact it will have is still unknown.

  8. Hydrogen is unstable and highly flammable.

  9. Forget hydrogen fuel, it costs more to produce than the energy you would receive from it. So here is an alternative...

Saltwater. Don't laugh, it's true. Just check out this video...

    www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6vSxR6UKFM

  10. How are "they" hiding it?  Why don't industrialists start producing this wonderful fuel.  Where are Ted Turner and George Soros?  Can't THEY start a business and produce it?

You don't suppose extracting hydrogen requires more energy than the hydrogen will produce, do you?

  11. how can the oil industry be "hiding'' anything that they did not invent?  what a rediculous statement...

  12. There is a good discussion in wikipedia under browns gas

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxyhydrogen...

Particularly the section about  enhancing performance of a diesel or gasoline engine.

Then we discover that there are patents using  a combination of hydrolysis, neutron bombardment, and short wavelenght electromagnetic radiation that greatly improve efficiency in separating hydrogen and oxygen from water.

If there is a future for hydrogen as a fuel, it mah be strongest using these enhanced systems that can deliver hydrogen at a much improved economy.

But even a browns gas has been demonstrated to give limited improvement in a gasoline engine, and remarkable improvement in a diesel engine provided that in each case the engine is operated with a lower fuel air ratio (petroleum fuel).

It appears that this works by allowing the engine to operate way beyond its normal lean mixture limit. This may compromise maximum power of the engine slightly.

The improvement in economy of the engine more than offsets the energy cost to split the  water.

It may be of less value, but one characteristic is that one can run the engine at a much lower idle speed... they run smoother. But will the engine have enough oil presure? Part of the reason for setting idle speed is to ensure one has adequate oil pressure.

There have been scams... kits that never did deliver on the promise and by design could never.

However if we have surplus power from a nuclear plant, we could produce hydrogen at a reasonable cost for a car that has up to 200 km range.

I really do not believe it is the role of petroleum companies to inform us about this. They have enough difficulty maintaining their credibility as it is.

  13. The burning of fossil fuels have nothing to do with the ozone layer. It is so high that almost nothing can get that high.

The hydrogen car will be like driving a bomb around. The atom is so small it will leak through most hoses and connectors. If the tank u put your hydrogen into has any oxygen in it ,it will backfire into the tank and the results will be bad.

I don't think most of the so-called educated people are ready for committing suicide.

  14. There are already hydrogen cars in research and development right now, however they will not be ready for mass production plus stations are not geared for hydrogen at this time.  General Motors has some very sophisticated cars in test they are trying to work the kinks out plus get the cost down for the average American.

  15. FOR THE RECORD hho stands for the spliting of the molicule which would be two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen      hho..because they are seperate ..mkay water into hydrogen and oxygen

you cant run your car on straight hydrogen but you can boost your car with a hydrogen cell to get better milage

DOES NOT MATTER IF IT TAKES MORE TO MAKE THEN YOU GET OUT ...BECAUSE YOUR CAR MAKES MORE POWER FROM THE ALTERNATOR THEN THE CAR NEEDS!!

i just love how everyone says its a scam without knowing anything about it, i have done some tinkering with hho hydrogen/oxygen browns gas whatever you wanna call it

i dont care how many mechanics say that modern day cars burn fuel at almost 100%

well the truth is im a mechanic and i know for a fact there is unburned fuel going out of your motor "which can be fully burned with oxygen and hydrogen a very flamable gas

, the battery in your car is fully charged after a very short amount of time your alternator is creating around 14volts constant just at an idle and not all of the 14 volts are being drawn down by the electronics of your car .. otherwise when you turn your headlights ac radio your car wouldnt run worth a c**p

hydrogen is obivously a flamable gas ... an alternator obivously makes more voltage at all times then the car needs to run ......

even if the alternator didnt .. you still have the "potental unused energy" from the non combusted fuel that normal goes to your catylistic converter and out of the exhaust

that all being said .....for your car to be able to see a real improvement you have to drop the voltage going to your oxygen sensor, that or put a spacer in it ...

it tricks the computer into giving the car less fuel

otherwise you would see no improvment

being your introducing more oxygen "coming from the hydrogen/oxygen mix" into your engine

.. which will pass by your oxygen sensor ... telling the computer to give the car more fuel which would mean you see no improvment and it would even out or like said above drop your mpg

  16. from the link,  <<Our revolutionary conversion guide will show you how to use a little electricity from your car's battery to separate water into a gas called => HHO (2 Hydrogen + 1 Oxygen).>>

    HHO  is  H2O  is water.

    they separate water into water.

what is it that makes any sense at all here?

other than they'd like you to send 'em some money.

how 'bout you send me the money, then, every time, just before you get in your car, you go pet the hood, and sing softly to it, you'll get better mileage.  70% better, if you do it right.  if you're not getting the 70% better, it's because you're not singing to it correctly.  fix that, and you'll be fine.  $50 please.

    thanks.

  17. hydrogen is extremely volatile.  But more important is the question why would oil companies WANT to be vocal on this?  If this works and is sustainable the oil companies, and the world economy would be ruined

  18. How would they keep being able to pimp to america and other nations if this became common knowledge?  Besides don't you think most people already know and they want to go with what is easiest and what is already know.  History shows that man doesn't like change.  Use of energy is not any different.

  19. Unfortunately, the people saying that it takes more energy to split hydrogen from a water molecule than you will get from it are correct.

Unless somebody comes up with a reduction catalyst that does so "naturally".

A "catalyst" is a material that promotes a chemical reaction without being a part of the reaction itself.

A "reduction catalyst" removes oxygen atoms from compound molecules.  For example, they are used in catalytic converters on cars to strip the oxygen molecules from NOx (Oxides of Nitrogen).

Specific reactions of this type require specific catalysts.  Who knows? Maybe there is one that can strip the oxygen atoms out of water molecules.  That discovery would be worth billions.

Personally, I think Hydrogen Peroxide would be a better candidate than water.

  20. From certain point of view Hydrogen is safer than gasoline. Gasoline is burdened by being a liquid. When there is a gas leak, gravity pours it all over everything and it spreads beneath the car, whereas the hydrogen is a gas that could float away and dissipate into the air whereas the gasoline will stay dangerous for hours.

Everyone is not seeing it is possible that I could make Hydrogen at my house with the resources available at home (and not possible for me to do the same with gas). I could set up wind/solar array at home to power the hydrogen conversion. I could use a simple air compressor to compress the hydrogen by creating the hydrogen in a large tank and setting the air compressor intake to compress the hydrogen.

  21. Hydrogen is a safer fuel than gasoline if you were in a crash.  It rises above and away, where as gasoline stays liquid longer and so if there is a fire, you are in it.

Everyone is afraid of hydrogen because they saw films of the Hindenburg accident.  The people who died were killed by the fall, not the fire.

If you want to use hydrogen in a car for fuel, the problem, as Rivergirl100 stated, is that it takes energy to crack the water into oxygen and hydrogen to be used.  It would also be hard to store enough in your car to get you very far.

I think that one day someone will come up with some good solutions to make hydrogen more useful, but so far it is being shown that alternate fuels that are being forced on the public because of the "global warming" SCAM are causing far more problems than are being solved.

We are now cutting down forests, to grow corn to be burned as a fuel, while people are starving to death because they can no longer afford either food or fuel.

I am all for using hydrogen, but you better be willing to let us use coal, oil, and nuclear power to produce it.

  22. whats up with the "g5cpab"after drivewater.com/ ?? looks like an affiliated id number considering that that website has something to buy i'd think you are getting a cut if someone buys the blueprints

the oil industry likes hydrogen anyway cause guess who is going to be future suppliers of hydrogen? shell, exxon, bp chevron. they just want to make the most amount of profit possible with oil before they gouge us with hydrogen

anyways that website has scam all over it anyways.

it only cost $50 to convert you car into a hydrogen powered car?? yeah right. one of the components of electrolysis of water(breaking to bonds of hydrogen and oxygen) is platinum as a catalyst. last time i remembered platinum is one of the rarest metals on earth so hard to believe you can convert your car for only $50. you might be able to get by with a nickel-tin catalyst but still gonna run more than $50

where is the source of energy for the electrolysis? something has to provide power to separate the hydrogen and oxygen. is it the battery? in that case it requires more energy to separate the molecules in water than it would to just run the car off the electricity needed in the first place.

electric cars and compress air cars seem like way better technologies

lol "It works with all engines...even airplanes!" delta airlines is merging with another airline mainly because they cannot keep up with rising gas prices. you would think that for only $49.95 they would have bought those blueprints to not only save their company and massive layoffs but also be the leaders in the air industry by being able to lower prices since they wouldnt have to pay high gas prices for fuel.

  23. If you are talking about the concept of using power from your car's alternator to produce hydrogen that you then burn in the engine, these are all scams.  Look up perpetual motion and second law of thermodynamics to discover why they will not work.

If you are talking about running a car on hydrogen produced external to the vehicle, this is certainly possible, and in fact Honda is producing a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle.  But, the hydrogen must come from somewhere, and it will take energy to produce it.  Thus it is not free, not even nearly free.

  24. The cost of detaching the hydrogen from the water is more expensive than other more useful fuels. Using electricity is the most common method, but using electicity to power a car instead is a more direct route to energy usage.

Even corporate giants like General Motors and Daimler -Benz can not get hydrogen fuel cells to work well enough to power a car.
