I have a simple question about a hydroponics set up I plan on using next year. I live in southern Idaho. The winters are cold and the summers are hot. I was wondering what the best hydroponics solution would be best for my area. I plan on building a hydroponics flood and drain garden out of PVC pipe. Basically I am going to have three 5ft long 4’in wide pipes connected with a U bend on opposite sides. Pipe 1. Higher then pipe 2 and 3. One end has the water pup hose (to pump water in) the other the U bend connects to Pipe 2. On the other end of pipe two it will connect to pipe 3 with is lower; using a U bent. Pipe three will then dump to a reservoir. The pipes will have holes for net pots cut in. the pump will be on a timer and will come on about five times a day. Will this work?

  1. yes this will definetly work.Sounds like you did a little home work before you started this project. Just remember clean your resvoir once a week and watch your ph and ppm. use ph up or ph down for adjusting your ph of your nutrient solution. hope this helps
