Hydrospeed or Fastskin Hi-neck Kneeskin?

I'm, obviously if I'm asking this question, a swimmer. I think I'm pretty good for my age. 2 seconds off of Sectionals in my 50m freestyle. A 53 on my 100yd free. 58 on my 100 fly. Yeah you get the point. Well, I've been researching around the internet for a racing suit (I currently use a jammer haha) and I found 2 that really caught my eye, but I don't know which to choose! I have a choice between the Hydrospeed Short John (http://www.swimoutlet.com/product_p/2458.htm)

Help me choose?

  1. The hydrospeed is a lot cheaper. if you're not sure if you'd like it, go for the cheaper one.

  2. I've read a study for the Fastskin but not the other.  The statistical results showed it faster (statistically) in greater glide.  The study showed stroke rate remained constant so the speed would be roughly 1% faster.  Statistically it was something like 3% +/- 2% so clearly individual style and fit has an impact.

If you are a traithlete the questions to be asked are "does this matter in open water" and "would it impact transition times."

I haven't seen a study for the other suit.  If it isn't faster then there is no economy in getting a cheaper suit if making the next PR is the goal.

Caveat:  I didn't read the original study and many statistical studies are flawed and some studies are only published in a particular magazine because of advertising sponsorship.
