Question:

Hyperextended elbow?

In a football game a couple of weeks ago my elbow was jarred early in the first quarter and bent slightly the wrong way. Far enough that there was an audible cracking noise but not so far that it stayed there. I was in intense pain for a while but it died down with painkillers and I got back on in the second half.

It's now 2 or 3 weeks later and I'm still unable to completely straighten my elbow and it hurts when I try. I can't lift very heavy weight with that arm either.

Does this sound normal after this sort of injury or should I see a doctor? Will I eventually be able to straighten it when it all heals up?

  1. i would defiantly get this checked out, you have pulled major ligaments and tendons here.

you could have torn or even ruptured them and in severe cases need surgery.

the muscles and ligament take longer to heal than breaks but you must get it looked at. to rule out anything sinister
