Hyperinsulinaemia and Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome..Link?

Has anyone read about, or know of any existence of a link between these two conditions?

  1. PCOS (as well as metabolic syndrom or syndrom x) does have a strong correlation to the development of type 2 diabetes (insulin resistance) and hyperinsulinemia.  Last time I looked into these conditions, there were already hundreds of articles out there.  I wouldn't know which one to choose ... Start with WebMD and go from there, I suppose.

A differ of polycystic ovarian syndrome has as symptoms:insulin resistanse,melanoid akanthosis and hyperandrogonemia( high levels of testosterone etc).The insulin resistanse linked with high levels of insulin. Insulin resistance,frequently assosiated with obesity,produces excessive stress on beta cells of pancreas,which may fail in the face of sustained need for a state of hyperinsulinism.

    the insulin resistanse happens as an answer of normal beta cells to hyperinsulinaemia.
