Question:

Hypersensitivity and Empathy?

Over the last few months I have found myself growing progressively more hypersensitive and empathetic. It's to the point now that I can watch the nightly news or my favorite movies because any inkling of fatality or emotional distress leads me to panic, crying or actually feeling physical pain. I don't understand this at all! Is there some sort of reasoning behind it? Why am I feeling what these people feel? Why is it affecting me so much?

  1. It happens to me too. I cry at the end of movies sometimes just 'cuz. I'm a guy and it's d**n embarrassing! But as far as I'm concerned it's a gift that I can feel what others feel. The alternative is to feel nothing when I see others suffering... even if it's only a movie.

  2. don't block it.  This is a gift you have.  I would try to figure out how you can express it in some way.  If you are creative in any way that would be excellent for you.  I can't even look at horror movie images, previews or photographs.  Maybe you have qualities to be a healer of some kind.  Come up with some kind of spiritual protective shield.  You are right and the world should adjust to you.

  3. it happens to me too perhaps you should stop or something like that, it can be terrible, but then again we should ALL offer help too.

  4. that happens to everyone when they watch  movies I think.

It sure as h**l happens to me alot.
