why does spraying someone's skin with water during hyperthermia lower his or her body temperature?

  1. Why does a hot pan cools down once you put it under (cool) water? Simple law of physics: the temperature cools down and gets distributed with the cooler water that is sprayed.

    BTW, I have never heard of or seen water being "sprayed", usually they do cold sponging, or washing up with/running water.


  2. looks like a question for a medical student ha...ha... (just jokes)

    hyperthermia makes the skin's pores wider than its normal state. and to make these be in the normal state again we should decrease its being wide by anything cool (like a cool water instead of a warm ones)
