Question:

Hypnotism for social anxiety?

I'm going to get hypnotized tomorrow and I was wondering if you or anyone you has, and if it worked. I would especially like information on results of someone who had/has social anxiety and was hypnotized. I'd really appreciate some advice. I feel like this is taking over my life.

  1. I once studied hypnotism techniques under a man who was trained by the US Army. He would not hypnotize someone to help them stop smoking because he said whatever caused them to smoke would just resurface with some other habit or behavior. I learned some amazing things. Not everyone is susceptible to hypnosis. There are a lot of phonies out there pretending to hypnotize. I wish you well. You might look into (scientifically proven) biofeedback techniques or even Transcendental Meditation for calming nerves. I strongly suggest that you read a small paperback by Dale Carnegie "How To Meet Friends And Influence People". This helped my little sister more than hypnosis because it gave her a game plan.
