  2. Blood may increase/decrease the core temperature of the body, but it is the hypothalamus that primarily controls the temperature. The particular area in the hypothalamus receives neurotransmission from the nerve endings/sensors. The anterior preoptic area of the hypothalamus receives the stimulation. When the environment is cold, sensors in our skin detect the cold feeling, then neurotransmission happens between the sensors and the neurons in the hypothalamus, then it will make the body adjust to the temperature through different activities like shivering, which will generate more heat.
