Hypothetical question - AFL vs Olympic Games?

Question

Would you rather be a member of a winning AFL grand final team & win a premiership medal - or be a member of a wining mens Olympic Games basketball team?

To make it more interesting - with the AFL it could be against Collingwood & you would be able to witness, first hand, Mick Malthouse crying over the loss....or if you're a Pies supporter you could imagine the game was against the WCE - & you could again accuse them of tanking.

If you choose to be a basketballer - it would be against the US Dream Team!

Would you rather get a medal for beating Collingwood - or one for beating the US Dream team?

Although I love AFL I would have to say an Olympic Medal because its witnessed world wide and I'll take as much glory as I can get!! =) (It doesn't look like I'll ever get either of these medals though so either one I'd take hehehe)

The Olympic Games gold medal.

That is what I would select. In fact I think I would select a Games gold medal, for any sport, over an AFL premiership medal.

Mainly because the Games medal is treasured & receognized world wide. The AFL medal is mainly only known within Australia.

Who can remember who played in the 1999 AFL grand final - or 2001? I can't even remember which teams played off - let alone the players names in each side.

Whereas, ask me who has won an Olympuic Gold medal & I have a better memory.

The Olympic basketball team is thrown together for the games. A winning AFL premiership team is one that has worked hard together for a considerable time.

Ill go basketball purely from a money point of view,think of the money you would be offered after winning gold if you were influencial in the side. No money involved then gimme an afl flag any day!

I'm taking the medal over the US team anyday. I'd love to rub it in their faces and I'd gloat with no remorse at all. All good sportsmanship will go out the window.

Being a Collingwood supporter, I would like to win a Premiership over Carlton, the cheaters! That would be fantastic! An Olympic basketball medal wouldn't mean as much to me, because I have followed Collingwood all my life, and footy is my passion!
