  1. Considering that Target is owned by a French company, I sincerely doubt they would step in.  If anything, they would try and take the customers from the other two stores.  If they were found out and Wal-mart and K-mart turned their attention on Target, it would just close its doors and go out of business, essentially surrendering.  The French have the surrender tactic perfected.

  2. Costco would beat up both of them!

  3. Target is the hypothetical UN in this case. They don't sell guns and all the q****s I know shop there.

  4. If k-mart and walmart were at war then target could capitalize on that and go up and become the king store chain!

  5. Target would bow out because it's a French owned company.  They would merely ***** about the war and continue to profit from the war the way France has ALWAYS profited from war.

  6. wasnt Kmart bankrupt for hiring Rosie as spokeperson or something?..Id think wally world would win, even if Target tried to get up on its hind legs and jump in with the big boy...

  7. No, Target is more upperclass/bougi. If there had to be a war it would be Wal-mart and K-mart vs Target. Then you have a real war.

  8. no.

  9. That war's already been fought.

  10. If the war threatens Target, absolutely. Or if Wal-Mart is using horrible, genocidal actions against it's own customers, then of course!!!

  11. haha. no.Targets too good for them, and it'll get target more customers

  12. only if walmart had oil.

  13. No, why? Target has then the most to gain!!!! Happy shopping!

  14. nah. target would remain neutral. they mind their own business. like they should.

  15. Theoretically? Not so fast. This is happening in a town where I used to live...a great place in Texas called Lufkin. Lufkin is a smallish city with a lot lot lot of shopping for its size. In Lufkin, Walmart grew from a regular store to a 24-hour supercenter and forced Kmart to expand to Big K with a moderate sized pantry section. Kmart is still a rather crappy store, and has limited hours, and is not doing well, despite being in a much better location than our Walmart. About 1 mile apart, Kmart is located at the intersection of the main highway running through town...and the town loop. It is also across from our mall and several larger stores, not to mention that about another mile away is the "strip" where the car dealers, furniture stores, and other dollar and discount stores, and most of the cities restaurants are located. SO Kmart is in a prime location and is still not doing so well except drawing in people who want only the sale items.

Walmart is still kicking *** but Target, on the other side of the mall, off the beaten path for the most part, is doing VERY well in spite of its location and a lot of competition. Do Kmart and Target work together? Probably not intentionally but collaboratively in the town of Lufkin, the retail community holds its own against Walmart. Big Lots, Tuesday Morning, Ross, Old Navy, Shoe Carnival, Best Buy, two very strong local grocery chains, and Academy, Kmart and Target are keeping Walmart and it's nextdoor buddy, Sam's Club, on their toes.

Walmart doesn't have the strangle hold on this town the way they do in so many other communities. But it is still the only 24 hour place in town, as well as being very reliable in its prices and inventory/selection which means it is always crowded and busy with horrible parking...which no one seems to mind. Carts are always full at Walmart too, something that none of the other stores can say.
