Hypothetically speaking, could a Spartan-like society arise again?

It would take the fall of a modernize society, country and world.

If one modern country goes down, the others would help it... I.E. U.N. However, if there was something that push man to the brink of eradication and modernization just crumbled and we fell to the dark ages.... again than it could happen.

Now in the beginning there would be lots of death, famine disease, because most people just can't do it on their own, but those people who are fittest would survive and the idea of survival of the fittest would take center stage.

And that would open the curtains to a Spartan like society that is built on nothing other than defense and basic survival for the people and the state. Where the men are trained the fight and hunt and the women are trained the fight and make and care.

If anything this way of living can still realistically be going on in some African or any sub-culture group that 1st countries think are still in the dark ages of thinking.

So to answer the question, yes.

But than you can question if it is really so dark to train yourself to live for yourself?

Because if something like that happened to 1st world countries a lot of people would die, just think of the people who don't know how to plant flowers.

To simply answer your question. Yes. In todays modern society it could happen but most likely not last whatsoever. Hitler for instance Hitler wanted to create the perfect society. Got really far but an ally screwed up. It only takes a dictator to win the people over and have control of the people's army. Of course not to invade other countries since that might create war. They would have to minimize immigration so as to not affect the main cause with people who do not fit their "requirements". Sure people would still oppose but they could be filtered out as long as the government is a monarchy and that monarchy chooses it to be so. Not even kill them if they don't want to but to exile them from their society.

The men were treated horribly. Whipped from a young age, not allowed to be a kid after 7 years old etc. I hope there won't.

It is possible but not likely because the military structure of society is hard to build and maintain nowadays with all the distractions in the world
