Hypothetically speaking, would ghosts look just the way they did when they died?

So lets say someone arm is cut off and bleeds to death...will the person be armless as a ghost in the after life? Is there such thing as headless ghosts?

I sometimes wonder...if we have a spirit body, then if we loose a physical limb, why doesn't the incisible one take it's place? You know, like astral projection or telekinesis...

  1. They are in all sorts of forms...orbs/or spheres of light, how they were in human form, just as a shadow, or no form at all/only movement

  2. Hypothetically speaking, yes. Exactly the same way, which would be really upsetting for them, which is why they would exist as hauntings on Earth, rather than crossing over, eternally searching for their lost limbs.

Realistically speaking, no, on the basis that ghosts do not exist.

  3. When I seen my mom after she had past  she looked healthier than before she died. so did my uncle when I saw him. he even walked better and he had been amputated from below his knees on both legs. so I guess that this shell that is the body does not effect the our spirit form.

  4. I think that a ghost would look like that person did at the happiest point in their life.

  5. I think they would look as they looked when they were living.  Or how they would want to be remembered...

  6. People who loose limbs experience a sensation at times like the limb were still there.

I would think the ghost would have all of his limbs, even if one were missing in real life.

  7. Yes, they might have. People have experienced this. They've seen their dead relatives. They looked just like the one before death.

There maybe ghosts without hands or heads if they are dead but only in movies. Actually, if a person died in that way, his ghosts would have looked the same before his head was cut. Example is the "ghost of Lincoln" seen in the White house. People who have seen it, didn't see the bruise of the bullet in his body.

  8. ghosts are already dead, how can u die twice

  9. They would look like they had a white sheet thrown over their body, with eye slots cut out so they can see.

  10. No, I believe that if you could see a 'ghost', the person would look exactly the way you remember him or her.  I caught a glimpse of my grandfather coming down the hall of his home shortly after he died, and even though cancer had wracked his body, his 'image' looked healthy!  I truly believe it was just a residual memory that I had..........

    Good question, though!

  11. The way my church explains is that the spirit is made of matter but we are not refined enough or pure enough to sense it. That's how I've heard it. It would probably look like us most likely.

  12. I suppose it depends on what the ghost is and how receptive you are.  A ghost could be a spirit of a dead person, or possibly some sort of energy memory imprinted on the surroundings which is why they are seen doing the same thing over and over.  I have seen a few and they looked like solid figures, then again i've had an experience of a ghostly visit where there was nothing visible but they were definatley there.  But, this is food for thought now.  Have you ever heard of Kirilian photography.  Invented by a Russian in the early 1900's.  They take a picture using electric currents going through glass plate and some sort of photgraphic technique.  The pictures appear to show a glow around the objects photographed.  No one knows what this glow is, an aurro or halo of some sort? but very visible.  It appears around even objects that aren't living such as rocks as well as living things.  The really interesing thing about these pictures is that if part of the object is missing the picture will still show a glow of the whole outline.  This has been shown when pictures of leafs that were cut in half were taken and the missing half still appeared as an outline glow.  Pictures of human hands have also been taken using this method, were a finger is missing, and just like the leaf the whole outline of the hand appears as a glow.  So, if Kirilian photography shows energy forms and ghosts are energy forms then I suppose they would be whole no matter what was missing from the body in life.

  13. There are no such things... When you're done here, please consider joining us in the 21st century

  14. Thats an interesting question and I think the answer is no. The reason is because i have seen lots of spirits old and young some hansome some not and I have never seen a badly decomposed one or one with missing limbs I thinks spirits return how they want to look and people see them that way,

  15. this is really a good question. it would be nice if you didn't have to walk around in the after life appearing to be injured. i believe the brain to be the seat of the person so i don't think there are headless ghosts however there would be bodiless heads. the body in life is the vehicle for transportation of the head so maybe in death the head would be able to motivate itself.

  16. I have no idea what ghosts are- but I know that there are heavenly spirits and demonic spirits. So be careful what you get yourself into.
