I don't know exactly what my dr is doing to me but I thought my dose was too low and they called me and said it was so the dr would increase it. Well I found out on the website that it got switched from 175 to 125mcg. I don't think doc wants me to take two of 125mcg or is this common? But I only got 30 pills. I'm confused. I'm calling the doc tomorrow but I just wanted to know what you guys think????

  1. don't take two. he made a mistake on what he told you.

continue taking the old dose if you can, but if not you can go ahead with the new one.  he either meant to increase it or decrease it. the largest dose that i have seen working in a pharmacy for 3 years is 200 mcg. however, it could be possible that you need to take more, but you need to ask him first. don't assume anything. levothyroxine comes in like 25 mcg, 50 mcg, 75 mcg, 100 mcg, 125 mcg, 150 mcg, 175 mcg, 200 mcg and probably then some. it's a really touchy medicine so you dont want to mess around with it. however, if you do take too much or too little for a day or two, it won't kill you.
