Hyundai coupe cam belt 2.7v6 2003 ?

does any one know what tools i would need to change a cam belt on a hyundai coupe 2.7v6 2003 i have a mechanic and the kit to do it but i do not know what tools i will need ......... please help

  1. you will need a 21mm socket to remove the lug nuts, a 22mm socket to remove the crank bolt, 19mm to remove the power steering pulley, a 12mm to remove the serp belt tensioner, a 17mm to remove the idler pulley and motor mount, a 10mm to remove the upper and lower timing covers, a 14 and 12mm to remove the motor mount bracket (engine side), a 12mm to remove the timing belt tensioner. you will also need a small pin and vise to colapse the timing belt tensioner and lock it into place.  


  2. No, nothing unusual, but make sure you know the correct tension setting & method of checking it.

  3. hmmm...nothing special that i know of...sometimes a plug is used to lock the crank and cams...but other things can be used eg drill bits or modified bolts...there not the easyest of engines to work on mind.
