Question:

Hyundai i10 will not start?

My car is fairly new. Drove 40 miles on Saturday and fine. Was going out yesterday but doors would not open with electronic immobiliser key - opened manually but when turn ignition there is no sound of anything turning over.

Lights do not come on apart from very weak internal light.

Hooter and radio all dead.

Is this likely to be the battery or the immobiliser?

  1. best way to charge battery if car starts its the battery you can get b/chargers for about a tenner

  2. First if you have AAA call them, this is a cheap service to have each year, I use it and have new vehicles, and have been a mechanic for over 30 years. The battery needs to be checked, and for a battery drain.

  3. Battery most likely, just get it checked out coz it doesn't sound like anything that serious!

  4. Battery, by the sound of it. As to why it's gone flat, that's another matter. Might just be that you've left something switched on, might be that the battery has just had it, might be a charging problem.  Surely it's under warranty, so let Mr Hyundai sort it out for you.
