  1. please don't buy a hyundai, they are korean cars, and all korean cars are made cheaply.  I am not knocking korea or koreans, but the cars that come from there are poor quality.  The tiburon may look nice, but spend your money elsewhere

  2. The Hyundai Tiburon is actually one of the better cars on the used car market, so congrats.

But with the V6 engine, you have yourself a pretty powerful little thing on your hands, and it is quite possible the previous owner has enjoyed it a bit too much - which you can usually tell by looking at tire wear (if the front ones are right down and the rear ones worn mostly on the side, you have an ex-hooner on your hands, in which a few other things could also be wrong, mostly clutch and transmission).

Check for service history, which should be spotless for peace of mind.

Check if the clutch pedal seems to be standing closer to the seat than the brake pedal by a fair bit - if so, it could be worn.

When you start up the car first, with engine cold, it should not emit any oily smoke from the tail pipe (hold your hand to the tail pipe, if it's oily, bad car), and it should run perfectly smoothly immediately - if it shudders and shivers, don't touch it, injection problems lurking.

  3. get a SE

  4. its decent.

  5. IT LOOKS GOOD, BUT WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM HUNDAI????? GOOD FOR 7 YEARS AND THEN A HOST OF PROBLEMS...

  6. newer ones are better, like 07s at least,  my buddy has one. The older ones are ugly. If you got the cash, go for a v6 cuz they have 6 speeds

  7. They're not bad unless you happen to buy one that has been thrashed and not maintained. A ratty Hyundai will cost your more to keep running than simply taking the plunge and buying a clean 2000 Civic from the outset.

  8. hyundais' slowly getting market gain and quality co ntrol, if u use the latest NHSTA safety complaints as a reference then you can see that now hyundai's quality control is better than toyota's (after toyota started discontenting they're vehicles in 1996). i own a Hyundai Veracruz (1st series 1st year) and i must say i am pretty suprised with the quality control they had with first series vehicles, i bought a 2007 toyota camry and wasn't amused with the quality control that they had on the first series vehicles. except for a few minor interior body fit and finish problems the car is perfect

  9. definately get a test drive, im really hoping you know how to drive a stick if youre going to buy one. be sure it shifts smoothly without any serious delay or grinding, obviously get a carfaqs report and maybe take a mechanic when you check it out if youre not buying from a dealer.

  10. Hyundai = p**p

  11. The good: Mileage is low and its a manual, so less big things to  go wrong. Hyundai is an extremely large global corporation, and they have dumped tons of money into their car division to make them better quality in recent years.

The bad: Korean. Expect little things to go wrong often, kind of like the early 90's domestic cars.

  12. dude they are awesome!
